James Beard Award-winning chef Tandy Wilson opens his second Nashville restaurant Monday, Sept. 10. At Mop / Broom Mess Hall, Wilson is taking a more casual approach with Southern staples like barbecue, catfish and vegetable-centric dishes. You can find the new space—read as Mop and Broom Mess Hall—at 1300 3rd Avenue N, just blocks away from Wilson's City House.
What's on the menu
According to a release, the menu will highlight the type of food Wilson likes to cook at home for friends and family, or "things you can eat with your hands." There will also be a full bar with a focus on custom sodas, mixed drinks, draft beers and wine.
Expect to see items like house-made sausages, hush puppy battered catfish and barbecue chicken served by the quarter or half. On the non-meat side of the menu, you'll see seasonal dishes like arugula salad with quinoa, sunflower seeds and a green dragon dressing.
Mop / Broom Mess Hall will serve dinner Monday through Sunday, as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
