Below is a question from a reader regarding the condition of Granny White Pike.
“I travel Granny White Pike every day and it is in terrible shape from Old Hickory Boulevard to Lipscomb University, particularly from the Você development through JT Moore Middle School. The road in front of JTM was torn up a couple years ago for Google Fiber or something, and there is still a great deal of housing construction taking place on this corridor. Do you know of any plans to resurface Granny White in the near future?”
The answer, in a word: Yes. Cortnye Stone, director of Communications and Community Engagement for Metro Public Works, reports that Granny White Pike is set to be repaved in 2019. “Weather permitting, paving should occur in late spring or early fall,” Stone said.
