The TSA will hold a hiring event in Nashville on Saturday amid a government shutdown.
According to a news release, the TSA is hiring full-time and part-time workers.
The event will be held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel, located at 777 McGavock Pike, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Sessions will begin at the top of each hour and last two to four hours. Applicants need to bring two valid forms of state or federal identification.
During a government shutdown, TSA employees are considered essential - meaning they're required to show up for work even if they are not getting paid.
On Friday, the current shutdown tied the 21-day record from the Clinton administration. Friday was also the first day 800,000 federal workers did not receive a paycheck.
Across the country, travelers and others are taking food to TSA agents to say 'thank you' to those working without pay.
Staff at Nashville International Airport delivered pizzas to TSA agents on Friday.
A post on the airport's Twitter account read, "It's not much, but just a small token to say thank you for keeping our airport running."
